ViziLite Cancer Screening
"The Wand" Anesthetic System
ViziLite is a quick and painless oral cancer screening. It allows us to identify abnormal cells, even those below the surface, for earlier detection. 25% of oral cancers occur in people who don't smoke and have no other life style risk factors.
We accomplish Tooth whitening in two ways. One is to make custom molds of each patient's individual teeth and provide them with a whitening gel to be used in the molds at home. We have 1/2 hour and 4 hour applications availible. This safe and proven method has worked well, and allows the patient to touch up the shade when they feel it is necessary.
ZOOM! IS HERE!!!
This is our other method of whitening and is done in our office. ZOOM! whitens teeth in one appointment. We still enhance ZOOM! with trays for the patient to take home. Teeth of a yellowish nature whiten quite well. Grayish and extremely dark teeth may improve, but they generally will not get into the white shade range.
Bonded composite fillings (tooth-colored) are the latest in dentistry today. They are strong, wear resistant and they are actually bonded to the teeth. Therefore, reinforcing teeth from the inside out. Amalgam fillings(metal) can actually warp over time and create a wedging force that increases the chance of tooth fractures. Even if the composite filling material was purple or green it would still be a better filling material than an Amalgam filling. Better appearance is an added bonus! We use the Apollo Plasma Curing Light which cures the fillings in one third of the normal curing light time. This helps make our composite procedures move swiftly and smoothly!
Porcelain crowns are recommended when the teeth being restored are too damaged to use porcelain veneers for restoration. This damage may derive from decay or fractured, old fillings. In certain cases porcelain crowns may also be used to straighten teeth. The shape, shade and size of the teeth will be improved. Once bonded, porcelain crowns are very strong and lifelike. There is no discoloration at the gum line since the crowns have no metal in them to shine through. They look great on the front teeth but are strong enough to be used to restore any tooth in the mouth!
Porcelain Veneers are thin shells of porcelain. They are similar to press on nails and only cover the outer surface of the teeth. Veneers are usually only one millimeter thick. However, the new ultrathin .3mm-.5mm veneers are also an option to certain candidates. Only one millimeter of tooth structure is removed so the teeth will not look thick when the veneers are bonded to the teeth. They are very strong and may be used to straighten teeth, close spaces, or even change the size, shape and shade of teeth!
These crowns have been the workhorse for the last thirty years. They are very strong and by using the latest techniques can be very esthetic. They are suitable for both front teeth and back teeth. When strength is a necessity these crowns are still number one. By using a porcelain margin at the gum line, patients will not have an unattractive gray line at the gum seen on so many older crowns.
Local Anesthetic is administered with "The Wand" anesthetic pump. The anesthetic is pumped evenly and slowly which gives the most comfortable injections possible.
